Instructions to Restore Redmi Note 5 Pro Stock Firmware

Like we stated, there are two methods to restore Redmi Note 5 Pro stock firmware. The first method below will allow you to flash MIUI recovery ROM using the TWRP recovery. The second method inlists the steps to flash MIUI Fastboot ROM using the Mi Flash Tool. You may choose the method that best suits your situation.

Method 1: Flash Recovery ROM using TWRP

  1. Download the MIUI recovery ROM for Redmi Note 5 Pro.
  2. Connect your Xiaomi device to the PC using the USB cable.
  3. Copy the downloaded ZIP file to the phone’s storage or SD card.
  4. Boot Redmi Note 5 Pro TWRP recovery.
  5. Power down the device, and hold the Volume Up and Power button simultaneously until the Mi logo appears.
  6. Go to “Wipe” -> “Advanced Wipe”.
  7. Select the Cache, Data, Dalvik/ART cache, and System boxes.

  8. Swipe the button to wipe the current ROM.
  9. Go back to the TWRP main screen and tap on the “Install” button.
  10. Navigate to the storage and select the MIUI Recovery ROM ZIP.
  11. Finally, swipe the button on the screen to restore Redmi Note 5 Pro stock firmware.

Once the flashing process is complete, tap on “Reboot System”. Your Note 5 Pro will boot into stock MIUI ROM.

Method 2: Flash Fastboot ROM using MiFlash Tool

  1. Download MIUI Fastboot ROM for Redmi Note 5 Pro.
  2. Extracted the downloaded ZIP file to an easily accessible location on your PC (e.g. C:\MIUI).
  3. Power off your phone and boot it into Fastboot mode.
  4. To do so, hold the Volume Down and Power button altogether.

  5. While your Redmi device is in Fastboot mode, connect it to the PC using the USB cable.
  6. Open the MiFlash tool.
  7. Click on the “Refresh” button.

  8. Next, click on the “select” button and select the folder where the MIUI Fastboot ROM was extracted.
  9. On the bottom of the MiFlash tool window, select “save user data”.

  10. Finally, click on “flash” to restore Redmi Note 5 Pro stock firmware.
  11. When the process is finished, your device will reboot automatically.

  1. Thanks for all these information. I have a question, can I follow method 2 when my phone’s bootloader is locked and the debbuging mode is off?

    1. Mike, method 2 involves flashing the phone’s partitions over the fastboot protocol. It will only work if your Redmi Note 5 Pro’s bootloader is unlocked.

      USB Debugging plays no part in the flashing process.
