Instructions to Install Xiaomi Mi A1 9.6.4.0 Oreo Update

Now, there are two different, yet very easy methods to install Xiaomi Mi A1 9.6.4.0 Oreo update. The first method will guide you on how to properly flash the ZIP file using TWRP recovery. The second method, on the other hand, allows you to install the official fastboot image using the Mi Flash Tool.

Method 1: Using TWRP Recovery

1. Download Xiaomi Mi A1 9.6.4.0 Oreo TWRP flashable ZIP.
2. Connect the phone to the PC and transfer the file to the phone’s storage.
3. Disconnect the phone and power it off.
4. Press the Volume Up and Power button simultaneously to enter TWRP recovery.
5. [Optional – If using a custom ROM] Go to ‘Wipe’ -> ‘Advanced Wipe’. Select the partitions as shown in the image below. Then swipe the ‘Swipe to Wipe’ button.
   
6. Tap on the ‘Install’ button.
7. Navigate the internal storage and select the flashable ZIP file.
   
8. Finally, swipe the button on the screen to install Xiaomi Mi A1 9.6.4.0 Oreo update.
9. Once complete, press the ‘Reboot System’ button.

Method 2: Using Mi Flash Tool

If your Mi A1 is rooted or has a custom ROM installed, and you’d like to roll back to complete stock firmware, then this is the method you should opt for.

1. Download Xiaomi Mi A1 9.6.4.0 Oreo Fastboot image.
2. Power off the phone completely.
3. Press and hold the Volume Down and Power button simultaneously to enter Fastboot mode.
   
4. Connect Mi A1 to the PC using the USB cable.

6. When finished, the phone will reboot automatically.
